Biography

      Kenneth G. Ray is a recognized expert in shopping center leasing and development representing developers/owners and a department store chain in their nationwide leasing and acquisition (by assignment or through bankruptcy proceedings) of 80,000-100,000 square foot stores, as well as other retail, manufacturing and commercial tenants. His shopping center representation has included the acquisition, leasing, financing and sale of regional and strip shopping centers; and the development of over 4 million square feet of retail space anchored by Walmart and other retailers.

      Mr. Ray has experience in representing owners of commercial properties in financings, workouts and restructurings and loan defeasance.

      Office leasing experience has included representation of both major landlords and tenants in New York City and other metropolitan centers of headquarters and regional offices, including representation of National Westminster Bank and a major investment bank. Mr. Ray has represented a developer in an 80 megawatt cogeneration project and other industrial and commercial clients in connection with acquisitions, sales, industrial revenue bond, construction and permanent financing, as well as hotel and motel development, financing and franchising.
      Mr. Ray was awarded a degree from City College of the City University of New York in 1970 and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1975. Mr. Ray was admitted to the bar of the State of New York in 1975 and in the S.D.N.Y. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and has been a faculty member of the Practicing Law Institute. He is a former member/partner in major NYC and national law firms.
